Ahh this is really good. I have no idea how old you are but you can see already how you are paying attention to detail especially with the facial features. So you should be proud and you are on the right track. I love the way owls have that poppy seed kind of effect on their wings and head, it's the white and black speckles that they have like this...[link]. If you ever make another owl and want to recreate that effect all you do is (if you are using acrylics paints) is paint your owl in the usual colours first (brown etc) mix some black and grey paint until you get this colour [link], get a cocktail stick and put a little of the paint on the end and dab it on where the real owl has this colouring. Then mix a speck of that grey paint to a pea sized amount of white until you get this colour [link]. When they grey paint is dry put teeny dots over the grey with the cocktail stick but avoid the edges of the grey paint. As a rule for miniatures what I have found out is 'never use pure white or black to add small details you must always add a little of the base colour in with lighter colour or vice versa or the effect is too harsh and takes over the overall effect because of the small size and it will make it look messy'. It is okay to use black or white on an animal that is only one of those shades but otherwise you have to create the illusion that something appears to be black or white... strange but true.
